Elyrian Tradition

The Lantern Walk

A celebration of where people came from — and where they chose to stand.

Compact Day

At sunset, Elyrians lit lanterns throughout the city. On one side they wrote the place their family came from. On the other, a single word: ELYRA.

The lanterns moved from every district toward the Crossing. The tradition did not ask people to forget their origins. It declared that they did not need to stop being something else to become Elyrian.

After Elyra

The tradition survived the catastrophe that destroyed the city. In later generations, lanterns still appeared among Elyrian survivors and descendants — sometimes even when no one remembered who had organized the first walk.

“You came from somewhere.”

— Traditional call

“I stand here now.”
