The Fence

Not the Black Market

The Fence is not the Black Market. It does not exist primarily to traffic forbidden goods. Its purpose is to connect buyers and sellers, families, medicine, information, and legitimate trade across borders that politics has made difficult.

Old Roads

Its oldest traditions trace back to Elyrian commercial networks and the Wilhelm Exchange. During the Elyrian Crisis, trade routes became evacuation routes and merchant contacts became lifelines.

Generations later, surviving Elyrian networks still carry the belief that Orenth and Caelora do not have to become strangers simply because their governments are enemies.
