Not every scar left by the Shattering was carved into stone. In regions struck by catastrophic Aetheric force, living beings were changed as surely as the land around them.
Across Talvara, these altered people and their descendants are commonly called Duskspawn. Many among them use another name for themselves: the Chosen.
Stories describe crystalline scars, altered eyes, strange sensitivities, and bodies that answer Aether in ways other Talvarans do not understand. Fear has made enemies of many, but no single story describes an entire people.
Whether the Chosen are victims of the Shattering, survivors of it, or evidence that Talvara itself is still changing depends entirely on whom you ask.
